When it comes to poker "Fish" is a term for a player who will lose his money because of a lack of experience. It is an old poker saying that if you do not know who the fish is it is probably you. The confidence displayed on your face is one of the best ways to avoid having people pick you out as a new player to the Texas Holdem Table or whatever poker game you have chosen. This confident look will make it seem like you belong in the room. If you look lost people will watch you like a vulture stalking a dying animal in the desert, and they will pick you off the first chance they get. Do not let yourself think that you can go into a casino dressed like this and get away with it. The people on TV are paid to wear that stuff because they are professional texas holdem players and have a good chance of being seen on TV. In the casino poker room a first time player will not be on any TV except a security camera getting laughed at by the security officers as you lose all your money. No one will take you to be a real player if you are dressed like a fool. By being marked as the fish you will have a harder time because everyone will be focusing on you to get your tells and to see what makes you uncomfortable, so avoiding this label will make the game better for you. Just keep your cool and try not to make any stupid mistakes until you have had at least one or two good hands. This will allow you to establish some credit and avoid being marked the Fish at a Texas Holdem Table in any casino around the world.
