William Hill Room Overview

William Hill is a brand that has been in the gambling industry for over seven decades. They’re one of the biggest bookmakers in the UK and have a huge player base. William Hill launched their poker room in 2002 and currently runs on the iPoker Network.

Bonuses & Promotions – 200% for up to $2000

You won’t find many better poker sign-up bonuses. William Hill Poker offers a huge 200% bonus for up to $2000. Each time that you earn 425 WH Points $5 of the bonus will be released to your real money balance and you have 90 days to clear as much as you can.

Upon making your opening deposit William Hill will also credit your account 1000 WH Points, which can be used to buy-in to events or converted into other exclusive rewards. For the 1st four weeks after joining new players are entered into a weekly cash race also.

The top 200 new players in the weekly race will earn a piece of the $300 prize pool. Each month players can play in the William Hill Poker Series (WHPS) with over $50K in guaranteed prize money. Players can also win seats to numerous live poker events.

William Hill runs satellites for the International Poker Open, Irish Open and the Russian Poker Tour. There are a number of freeroll promotions running in the poker room. Make sure you also join the William Hill Poker Facebook page to receive exclusive deals.

There is also a great loyalty program. Players can exchange their WH Points for cash or tournament entries. The exchange rate varies based on how many points you exchange for cash. There are loyalty freerolls and special rewards available for eligible VIP players.

Cash Games – Start Playing at the $.01/$.02 Level

Most of the action is Texas Holdem, but William Hill also spreads Omaha, 7 Card Stud and Omaha Hi/Lo. There are micro level cash games ($.01/$.02) available, but higher stakes (Above $10/$20) is very limited because most of the players are recreational.

William Hill offers full tables, short-handed tables and heads-up cash game action. Speed Poker is a fast-fold variant that’s spread in the poker room (Holdem & Omaha Only). The average rake is roughly 5% with a $3 cap for most stakes (Up to $10/$20).

There is no rake if there isn’t a flop, as William Hill has the no flop, no drop policy. The main reason to play cash games here is due to the weak competition. A lot of sports bettors come to the poker room to gamble and they aren’t difficult to beat consistently.

Tournaments – Sit & Go & MTT’s

I love the selection of multi-table tournaments at William Hill; especially considering the poker room isn’t huge. The Sunday line-up boasts nine guaranteed prize pool events with over $250K in prize money (Biggest Event is the Sunday Special with $150K GTD).

Other tournament formats include knockout, steps, shootout, speed, multi-entry and re-entry. The four jackpot S&G events (Maui, Rio, Fort Knox & Dirty Dozen) are great as well. You can win extra cash for finishing in 1st or 2nd in multiple jackpot S&G tourneys.

Each month there is over $4000 in prize money to be won in WH Points tournaments (Bankroll Builder). There are also lots of S&G events running 24/7 with varying buy-ins. For a poker room that doesn’t have a huge player base they plenty of tournaments.

Software & Traffic – iPoker Network

The iPoker Network is owned by Playtech and the company also developed the software. The software is above average, but it isn’t on the level of the big brands to be honest. The software has numerous problems and the graphics aren’t that great either.

William Hill has to be downloaded to your computer and the poker room isn’t mobile friendly yet. The software can handle up to 16 tables at once, but the multi-tabling features are limited and you should only play as many tables as you can fit on your screen.

Common features such as player notes, game history and cash/tournament filters are all available. William Hill Poker also has a great buddy system where you can interact with your friends. They also have a poker coach tool that you can download for free.

Traffic on the iPoker Network is ranked #3 overall. Roughly 3000 real money players are logged in to the network at any given time and that number increases a lot during peak hours. The network has a reputation for loose players, which is why it’s so popular.

Banking – Deposit & Withdrawal Methods

William Hill has their processing down perfectly and they accept dozens of deposit methods. I can’t list them all here, but they list them on their website and include credit cards, debit cards, e-wallet, bank transfer, cheque, voucher or direct cash in the UK.

None of the banking methods have any fees and almost all of them are instant. The minimum deposit is just $10 while the maximum deposit is up to $100K although I’m sure no one will need to deposit that much. Most payouts are processed within 24-72 hours.

Support – Contact William Hill Poker

William Hill support is available 24/7, but only through email and telephone. Nowadays most poker rooms have live chat or offer IM chat support. Email support (Poker@WillHill.com) is the best way to contact a rep if you have a question about the poker room.
